DENTON PUBLIC LIBRARY HAS SCHEDULED TWO FALL VISITS
TO THE ROBSON RANCH LIBRARY
On Monday, September 29, from 10 am to noon, Denton Public Library (DPL) librarians will be in the Robson Ranch Library to sign up residents for DPL cards and to answer questions about using a digital device to download e-books, audiobooks, movies, and other materials available digitally from DPL. Expiring library cards can also be renewed. Do you have questions about CloudLibrary or Hoopla? They’ll be able to answer them. To obtain a DPL card, you’ll need to show a photo ID (driver’s license, passport, state ID, etc.) and proof of residency (if your photo ID does not contain your current Denton address). For digital assistance, bring your device with you to the Robson Library for hands-on help. The DPL librarians will even assist in downloading the CloudLibrary app to your device.
On Friday, October 10, from 10 am to noon, the Denton Public Library (DPL) Outreach Librarian, Haley Phillips, and South Branch Adult Services Librarian, Makenna Madsourivong, will be in the Robson Ranch Library to offer a detailed presentation on the new--and exciting—DPL online resource, PressReader. Through PressReader, DPL cardholders will have digital access to 7,000+ current global and multilingual newspapers and magazines on their personal devices from home or anywhere else with Wi-Fi access. With no subscription fees, you’ll be able to read The New York Times, USA Today, and many other newspapers from the comfort of your own home. Good Housekeeping, Smithsonian, Us Weekly, and Car and Driver, among many other magazines, are available too. This will be an in-depth presentation on what’s available on PressReader and how to access and navigate DPL’s new e-resource. Be sure to bring your cell phone, tablet, or laptop—with PressReader downloaded—to follow along more easily. You should also have your DPL card on hand. With your DPL card, PressReader is available via the DPL website—www.dentonlibrary.com— or an app. [For this presentation to be most beneficial, attendees must have PressReader downloaded on their device(s) prior to the October 10th presentation. To download Denton Public Library’s new e-resource, PressReader, go to www.dentonlibrary.com. Sign in with your Denton Public Library card number and pin (usually the last 4 digits of your library card number). Go to Online Library—DIGITAL MEDIA and tap on News and Magazines. Then follow the instructions to access PressReader.]
